Modern day agricultural practices have drastically deteriorated our soil over the years. Since this has taken place, farmers, gardeners, turf management companies and the like are having to use more and more chemical based fertilizers in order to try to achieve the same results. As they do this, they are unwittingly perpetuating the environmental problem. Since more and more of these chemically made fertilizers have been used over the past decade, we are now seeing the results of soil degradation and harm to our environment. The excess that is being released into our waterways and along the coastline for instance, has created algae blooms, many of which are driven by phosphorus and nitrogen which has been introduced to our watershed, leaching into our lakes, streams, rivers and eventually making it to the coastlines and river deltas.

With the addition of natural soil amendments, we can restore our planet's soil while producing more nutrient dense foods, green lush lawns, healthier plants and trees, without harming our environment. 

We decided to try a side by side comparison to see if our all natural soil amendments could benefit soil that was/is highly contaminated by mine waste. For this study, we used Alien Grow Fusion and soil from an area that is heavily contaminated from an old mines run off waste. This soil as you can see is not very healthy looking and unfortunately there are superfund clean up sites across America with similar levels of soil pollution. 

2 containers were equally filled with this contaminated soil. For one container, we simply spread and raked grass seed on top of the soil. In the second container, we added grass seed as well, but additionally applied our un-pelletized Fusion soil amendments to the top of the container. The containers were then watered equally.

By day 9 both containers had grass growing in them, however the container with our Fusion soil amendments had significantly more growth. The color of the grass was also noticeably different, appeared stronger and healthier than without. 

By day 16, well we'll let the photos do the talking. 

As you can see, our Alien Grow soil amendments produced significantly stronger grass, a higher germination rate and a much deeper color as one would expect from healthy grass, not grass that had been grown in contaminated soil. 

With the addition of Bio-Char Plus, not only would we have the same results, but the Bio-Char Plus would additionally sequester the pollutants into the soil, preventing them from entering our water shed. This is because studies have found that Bio-Char attracts the ions of many modern-day pollutants to itself because of its molecular polarity.
